My background is as a yoga teacher and aromatherapist with over 20 years’ experience with a style heavily influenced by India and the Buddhist and Hindu cultures. I like a space to feel light, zen, and uncluttered so that it invites a feeling of deep calm and relaxation, whilst also being a home away from home.  I teach retreats all over the world and this is my own little retreat in the Lake District.

Being close to water is very calming and serene and within minutes of being at Abbott Moss, you forget all the stresses of everyday life. I hope that you will love my home as much as I do.

August – Ben, London – Sawdays Special Places

This was the quickest I've ever relaxed into a summer holiday. The space and setting, the lake and wildlife, the peace and quiet were all wonderful. The local area was also wonderful to explore - mountain biking trails at nearby Coombes Wood, some great tracks and trails along the Pennine Way, and short drive to Ullswater to enjoy The Lakes. Time moved delightfully slowly, and certainly out first thought as we departed, was that we can't wait to come back.

The house is just amazing & the furnishings and decor are fabulous. It is equipped with everything that you could possibly need and we especially loved the Aga. It’s set in a beautiful peaceful location but not too far from villages with shops and pubs. It’s not very often that you find somewhere this fabulous that is dog friendly and our whippet loved playing in the large garden. We will definitely be back.

Honestly the most comfortable rental we have ever stayed at in the most idyllic surroundings. We loved the house and the lake. Our welcome basket was an unexpected treat. We went on walks as a family and enjoyed the bird life of the lake.

Our stay at Abbot Moss was simply amazing. We could literally find ourselves just sitting starting out of the windows watching nature. The house was impeccable in every way - everything you could ever want or wish for. The decor, so tasteful and well finished - just beautiful. The surroundings were quiet, peaceful and serene and the wildlife was right at your doorstep. We enjoyed every minute, rain or shine - could have stayed forever. The housekeeper, Julia was so kind and left a beautiful home made cake and freshly laid eggs and was always there to help.

A beautiful country house in a beautiful, extremely quiet location. The house is very tastefully decorated with all high end mod cons and a beautiful Aga in the kitchen. Having its own private lake complete with swans, geese and ducks, it is very peaceful and a perfect place to reconnect with nature. A place to unwind with lots of things to see in the local vicinity.

A beautifully appointed, handsome house in a stunning setting. Perfectly placed for all the Lake District spots but away from the crowds. We loved our stay at Abbot Moss. So peaceful and with everything you could possibly need with a well stocked kitchen, games even blankets and dog towels. The decor and furnishings were stunning.

An exquisite place to stay - stunningly interior-designed and luxurious whilst also being relaxed and functional. That’s a combination which is hard to achieve and Abbots Moss does it just perfectly. We had a lovely stay, thank you.

Kitchen fantastic for cooking a lot of equipment to use.
We loved kayaking on the lake. Our favourite Airbnb by far!
